Former sorting office transformed into modern Data Centre

A leading French property developer approached Reid Brewin Architects to help them convert a disused postal sorting facility in Pantin, a northern town of Paris, into a large, state of the art data centre.

The brief was to create a modern facility with contemporary architecture which would attract businesses to a formerly run-down logistic park.

The client, a world leader in data centre operations, took over the project in 2010 attracted by the quality of the architecture, location and the potential to develop in phases according to market demand.

Client experience is becoming a crucial element of data centre design, in fact, the company’s managing director at the time described it as 50% of the company’s sales strategy.

RBA was able to use their considerable experience within the French market to propose and deliver a large extension, completed in 2019.
