Paul Smith : Stores, Paris & Antwerp

Local knowledge, guidance and consistent design

As well as ensuring that the refurbishment of six Paul Smith stores reflected the ethos of the brand, Reid Brewin Architects offered guidance and local expertise in accessibility, fire and safety regulations.

The firm helped source finishes and products which comply with French regulations and solved some rather unusual problems such as the best way to glue pennies to a wall.

RBA regularly conducted site visits when its bilingual staff were able to offer feedback to the UK-based Paul Smith team.

Based in central Paris RBA was reactive to client changes, finding local contractors and guiding the project through the administrative hurdles and liaising with the local planning authority and other relevant authorities.

At the fashion designer’s new headquarters in the Marais, Paris, space was restructured to create three floors of flexible showrooms which can be easily adapted for new collections.

Each space has its own visual concept and character helping create an eclectic feel to the building.
