Of all the professionals involved in the construction process, the architect is bound most extensively in his responsibility regarding insurance.

As with all those involved in a construction project, it is compulsory for the architect to have insurance cover for all the operations he undertakes requiring his professional responsibility, ie.

– to cover his professional commitments – to cover damage caused by a third party – to cover any disturbances and defects for

which he may be considered the person responsible However the architect is the only one registered to a Professional Order, one of whose key missions is to control and ensure that it’s members have professional insurance cover. Non compliance on the part of the architect is liable to result in heavy disciplinary action.
