October saw much of the Reid Brewin Architects team embark on exciting new projects for the practice – in London, Paris, and beyond. While we’re struggling to grasp that we’re already approaching the end of 2021, we’re keen to see what’s waiting just around the corner for us in 2022.
It’s been another crazy month at HQ – so here’s a look back at some of our highlights.
The Global Switch Paris West data center turns 10!
It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since the Reid Brewin Architects team finished work on the Global Switch Paris West data center in Clichy-La-Garenne, France.
Yes, a decade ago, RBA provided Global Switch Paris with one of the largest data centers – in terms of surface area and electrical power supply – that France has ever seen. And ten years on, we’re still as proud of it now as we were when we finished.
In a recent blog, we spoke to RBA co-founder, Alex Reid, to take a look back on the iconic project.
Experimenting with virtual reality!
One of our project teams spent a few hours donning the headset, stepping into virtual reality, and exploring the digital surroundings of one of our own projects towards the end of RIBA Stage 4, which gave us an enhanced understanding of the spaces we’d designed.
We love trying out new technology and seeing how it can help us in our work.
Sharing our musings…
Alex Reid spoke all-things data centers as part of a panel discussion with Arcadis, and we appeared in Data Centre Magazine to highlight the need to make buildings — and particularly data centers — more sustainable.
